I am loving living in my new house. It is so nice. I have missed living in my own space more than I realized. We are still working on all of our projects. He have a lot of loose ends though. When I look at them I get over whelmed. Here are a few of the things we still have to do.
Remember how I put molding on all of my cupboard doors? Well I still have a few to go. This one is missing
This one too
Now this is going to be a huge project. Because I had to had the farmers sink, the doors that used to go there don't fit anymore. So we have to cut them down and then I have to fix the molding on them again. Also, I want to take down the wood that is surrounding the sink because I don't like it and that is going to be tricky too because there are two big holes on either side of the sink that we are going to have to fix.
Do you see that big pile of furniture??? Well dumb me decided that I didn't want light wood in the house. So guess what I have to do to every piece of that furniture??? Yup, I have to paint it ALL. I really didn't know what I was getting into when I started.
This is the hole to our attic. We don't have a cover. So we have to get a piece of sheet rock and texture it like I did the ceilings, and then paint it the color of the walls.
This is Asher's closet and it is door less just like all the other closets and bedrooms. We have to put up all the doors still.
This is one thing that I got done this week. I was able to paint all the kitchen table chairs. Here they are at first. . .
And this is what they look like now. So nice!!!!!
As you can see we have a lot of work to do not to mention the yard and other stuff around the house like my back splash. Yeah I have to do that too. So, we will be busy here for the next 5 years :) Anyone want to take a vacation to CA and help us?????? ;)

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!
WE ARE IN!!!!! I can't even tell you how excited we are. The house isn't done but it is livable and we love it. Today I organized the bedrooms and the kitchen and I loved every minute of it. I forgot what it felt like to live in your own space. I love it. The first night we were all so excited that no one wanted to go to bed. Here is a pic of the boys the first night around 10:30pm
Didn't my table turn out nice. This is after I bought the black paint that was the right color :)
I have a feeling that the progress will be slow now but I will keep posting our new fixings :)

We're almost there!!!
We are so close to being able to move in. We are hoping to move in this weekend. These are some of the final things we are doing. . .
I was able to hang almost all of my doors on the cupboards. I love them!!! Don't they look great????
Do you see that on the bar on the left of the pic. that there is wood color and not white? Well, it is because this "bar" is supposed to be a corner cabinet that we bought from IKEA. It really shouldn't be sitting the way we have it. But we bolted it down really well before the granite went on it and then to fix the ugly wood color thing. . . .
Now you don't see the ugly wood. We just used bead board and painted it and now it looks great!!!
We put it on both sides. Now no one will ever know that it was a cheap IKEA cabinet that was a pain in the patella to put together :)
We got some new Bedroom furniture and a new entertainment center and I decided that I wanted them to be black instead of a wood color. So, I had to sand them all down. Here they are all sanded down
I bought paint from Lowe's to paint them but when I painted them the color wasn't black, it was like a charcoal gray-black color and I so didn't want that. So I had to go buy more paint. I ended up just getting black spray paint that is special for wood. I haven't finished yet but I will show pics when I'm done.
The last week we have been working hard on the baseboards. First I had to paint them. Then Bob cut them and nailed them up to the wall, then I had to caulk them. After they dried I then did paint touch ups. Wow!! what a job. They look really nice next to the floor and the wall - Don't you think?

Lots of Updates!!!
We have been crazy busy working on the house. This post will be a little long because I have to show you all the pics:)))
First of all yesterday we went to this thing in Thousand Oaks called Touch a Truck. The boys were able to see all kinds of trucks and climb in them, ride in them, touch them etc. It was way fun. Enjoy the pics
Here are all the pics from the granite and my lights. The floor is all done and we didn't get to move in yesterday like we wanted, but hopefully soon ;)
I put these black ceiling fans in all 4 bedrooms and one in the living
Here it is. The granite is in and I love it. Here is the new kitchen without the cabinet doors
Here is a close up to my granite and my farmers sink
Ohhhh I love this chandelier. It will go above our kitchen table
This is what our black yard looks like right now. What a mess. We had to cut down the oleanders or however you spell them because they are poisonous for the kids. We have soooo much work to do on the yard.

"How long have you been putting out?"
The other day Scotty and Bob were working at the house putting in the floors until like 10:00 or 11:00 pm. Needless to say they were really tired and totally out of it. A new couple is moving into a house across the street from our house and around 10:00pm they decided to visit Scotty and Bob to say Hi and introduce themselves. After the introduction Scotty found out that they will be getting married not this Sept. but Sept. of 2009. He wanted to ask the girl how long she had been holding out for the boy to commit. Instead of asking "how long have you been holding out" he said this "So, how long have you been putting out?" The girl just looked at Scotty with a weird look on her face and said "5 years" and they went on with the conversation. Nobody started laughing and corrected him. They all just pretended not to hear what he said. So that night Scotty told me what he had said and I just died laughing so hard that I laughed myself to sleep. So the next day I was over there and had the chance to meat the new neighbors. When I met them I said, "So I hear that you guys put out" and they just started laughing and it was really funny. They totally understood that Scotty was out of it when he said it so no harm done. At least we know that our neighbors have a since of humor Right?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY ASHER!!!
My baby turned 4 today. Can you believe it? I can't. I love him soooo much. We had such a fun day. We went to Stake Conference, and had cake and dinner and we opened presents and we just played together all day. I love my little crazy family. I feel a little bad for not planning a party or anything, but I seriously have had a one track mind in getting the house done. So to fix my mistake when Grandma Oreo and Papa Joe come out we are going to Disneyland!!!!
Grandma Oreo sent Asher these cool teeth. Doesn't he just look handsome????
This is his Hot Wheel cake that I made. I love making him birthday cakes. I am no pro but one day I want to take a cake making class!!!
Here is another shot of Asher's cake. He was so excited to eat the candy letters!
This is the Hot Wheels track Asher got. He loves it soooo much. You have to watch close to see the cars go from station to station :)
Grandma Oreo and Papa Joe. This is for you from Asher!!!
All in all it was a great easy day. Asher is such a joy in my life. I can't imagine our family with out him. We love you Asher!!!

More updates
Are you sick of me blogging about my house yet??? Well if you're not, here is what we are doing now. I am sooooo excited!
Here is Scotty hooking up the dishwasher. The house didn't have one before so we had to cut into the cupboards to make a place and then put in a garbage disposal and then do the dishwasher!!
We started putting the floors in. This is what it will look like when we get the molding in. I love it. It looks like we spent a lot of money and we didn't:)
Here they are. My beautiful cupboard doors. I made these!!! We decided to go white with the cupboards and it is going to look so cool. I can't wait to hang all the doors.
I smashed my finger the other day and it hurt really bad.
This has to be the coolest thing I've done in the house. I cleaned the cement floor in the laundry room really well and then I painted it with cement paint. Now the room is a laundry/mud room and it has a door to the outside. I am way excited about this one. I got the idea from HGTV!!!!!!
This is what it looked like finished almost dried. It dried a nice brick red!! I love it

WOW is all I have to say
This last week we worked so hard on getting stuff done on the house. We worked every night until around 11:00 and it was crazy. But look at the difference. We were able to finish texturing the ceilings and walls. Then we primed all and then we painted two coats on the whole house. Then, yesterday the carpet guy came and put carpet in all the bedrooms. WOW! They look great. It looks like a new house. This pic is of the master room.
We primed the cabinet for painting and they look so much better. They went from this. . .
to this. . .
You probably can't tell how much better it looks, but I tell ya, it looks like new. I am going over today to put the first coat of paint on the cabinets and then we are planning on putting the floor in when I am done painting. I am way excited.
Here are a few pics of my boys playing the other day. ..
