On the heels of a toddler

Our trip to Santa Monica Blvd. All I want to do is have some fun
Adam and Lori and Chelsea met us in Santa Monica. We walked all over the place by the pier. There were shops and street performers and all kinds of stimulation. We had fun. Asher loves Chelsea. He kept giving her kisses hugs.
If you give this monkey a dollar he will shake your hand. So we let Asher give him a dollar and I took a picture of the shake. It was so cute. I mean, who can say that they have shaken hands with a monkey?

House Hunters
So yesterday we went out with our realtor and looked at a bunch of houses. I really got a taste of what buying a "Foreclosure" means. Yup, nasty. I am a girl who was very spoiled growing up. My parents seemed to build new houses the majority of our moves (which was every 2 years) so we were always getting new everything. Well, these houses that we can afford out here are . . . well. . . .not new. In one house we would have to replace the drywall in the dining room because of mold. All the kitchens would have to be re-done because they were just so old and ugly (again remember I'm used to new homes) and basically the baths would need re-doing and of coarse the walls would need new paint and the carpet would need to be replaced. One of the houses we went in was supposed to be vacant. Nope. We walked right in to squatters. They weren't supposed to be living in the house. But the last house we looked at showed the most potential. The previous owners had converted the family room, garage, and patio space into bedrooms. This brought the bedroom count to a grand total of 7. But, if we knock down the "walls" they made, it is a 3 bed 2 bath and it has a great lay out. So we would re-due everything. Oh, it has a fireplace. I was excited about that. We will see what else we look at. For new updates, stay posted.

I've had a couple people ask me what our new address is in California. It is:
Leave me a message here if you want it and I will get it to you.
We will be here until we purchase a home.

Oh the pain
So we are looking for a house to buy. As everyone knows, the realestate in California vs. Utah is just crazy. We came from a 1400 sq. foot house in Utah that was super small. Well, we will be lucky if we find one as big as that that we can afford. I have been looking and getting a taste of what is out here. Yes the prices are going down, but let me help you see what my pain is. If I were to buy a house just like the one we left in Utah, it would cost us around 550,000.00. Yes that is a big jump. Given you make more money in California than Utah, but still. . . . this is crazy. We will probley find a fixer-upper in a good neighborhood and do our fixin-ups. Oh well. I am very excited to get a house. Oh I have a funny story about Asher today. He knows that saying "shut-up" is a bad thing to say and so today I heard him say "shut. . " and I looked at him and he paused and then continued saying ". . the door" and smiled at me like, I wasn't going to say a bad word. It was funny. k-bye
